Mediation
Mediation can be a powerful, non-confrontational tool for any workplace. Mediation is a useful alternative to a formal HR process such as disciplinary procedures and offers the opportunity for informal resolution to a variety of issues.

Mediation is a process by which two parties are bought together with a designated, professional and experienced mediator to discuss the issue(s) and find a resolution that both parties can agree to.
It requires very specific skills to be a mediator and it requires the mediator to follow a set process, ensuring that the conversations are 'kept on track' and that both parties adhere to the meeting rules and both get a fair opportunity to speak.
To support employers with conducting mediation conversations, we have produced a useful guide to mediation which can be found on our 'free resources' page.
This guide provides some useful ground rules and the basic structure of a mediation meeting.
We offer a range of HR support services including professional mediation support. If you are interested in finding out more about our services, please contact us on contact@tracyjbarlow.com
